What is Edaria OOC?

Edaria was a town, just like Puddleby. You can get information about that (mostly in edarian dialect) on these scrolls:

I know it was a German game (i think). Was there anything about it in english?

It's the Clan Lord for German players (perhaps other European countries as well) and it had quite a few changes from our Clan Lord and was called Alchera. While we call our island Puddleby they called their island Edaria which explains why there is a clan called The Edarian Alliance. Alchera was not developed by Delta Tao but instead was licensed by another company. From the little I know I believe there were some problems with that company and it went out of business before it could even pay Delta Tao the licensing fees. I don't even think Alchera got out of public beta.

On comp.sys.mac.games.adventure there was a thread about the changes Alchera had and a lot of them look really interesting.

Alchera had some really cool aspects to it and it was a labor of love by some German and American CL players.

It basically started as Clan Lord v80 (or whatever version we were on at the time) and diverged from then on.

One thing I really liked is that they had non-developer GMs that just focused on making quests and stories.

They also developed a beta Windows version, although I never tried it.

There were a lot of bumps in the road... for example, I remember they didn't have the source to the server stuff, only the client, so they couldn't fix server bugs or make improvements they wanted there.

It's true that it never got out of public beta, and the team was very sad to have to abandon it.
