SlartyGM Takes Questions

slarty_thooms.gif

Fundin sent the following report to TMN:

SlartyGM was in the fairgrounds today. He answered a few questions and stuff; some obviously he couldn't, but I had to try! A movie can be downloaded here if you wish. It's short.

Firstly, on at least the PC client that movie don't work!

Secondly, comments on thoomcare are slow to load lately.

1) The movie works fine on a Mac. Not sure what to tell you PC people on that.

2) Yah, I know. In the coming weeks or months I may be looking at moving hosts and changing the software that runs TMN. It's no small task though, so it may be a while.

About the Winclient-Issue:

The movie is packed into a macbinary format, which then was
zipped. WinZip on Windows does not know about macbinary.
You can use stuffit expander to extract the movie
correctly.

(Unzipping the Movie on OSX also does not work unless you use
Stuffit Expander as well)

Not playin on my Mac. But I have an intel one. Why should that matter?

As I written before Fundin used Stuffit to compress that movie.
Stuffit (even as zip) is incompatible to everything else. Use
Stuffit Expander to decompress and it will work.
The OSX-Builtin Unzip cannot handle such archives.

Fundin - Use .sit format or OSX-Zip next time please :)

Stuffit hangs when I try to unstuffit. Why is this compression such a pain? It's never been this much of a problem before?
