Sound of Chaotic Energy

gmv_wow.gif

Creed sent the following report to TMN:

Hail Para,

Breaking news from the Greymyr Village. After Romuli reported hearing "strange noises" there, Shiner and I came to join him and see what was up. As you and your readers will hear on the attached visionstone, the noise is strange and frightening indeed. MaryJane reports that it is the sound of "chaotic energy."

More to come.

From the GMV,
-Creed

100c says bug related to headache-storm. It's a thunder sound repeated every frame.

Uh, you might want to read the code of that file. Shows stuff that's happening all the way over in the bard guild at the same time.

Crazy.

The CL client reuses buffers and doesn't clear them, so if the new contents are smaller than the old contents bits and pieces of them can end up sticking around for quite some time. The code to write out movie files seems to mainly just dump memory structures to disk, so you'll often see things at the beginning of a movie file that happened a long while before the recording started. They're meaningless to the actual movie (don't affect playback).

The More You Zo(tm).

Now what is scary is when that buffer thing happens in game. It happened to Leinis twice and he ended up seeing the court room and town square at the same time. Oddly people from the town square view were moving around and acting normally but Leinis and the court people were frozen.

is there some trick to seeing it? I see a lot of text and strange symbols, not a visionstone.

Try right-clicking on the link and saving to your desktop. Then open from within the CL app. I should have compressed it. I'll do that this evening.

Visionstone now in form of a .ZIP file. Download and uncompress to view.
