Portal in Falinea's Garden

portalfalinea.jpg

A portal has appeared in Falinea's Garden. This portal will take you to the South Forest Outpost, north of the ThoomCare Hospital. Thanks to WormTounge for the tip.

The teleporter HURTS and will leave you low red, unless, so the rumour goes, you have a good deal of Mentus training.

Takes me to low green anyway. :-)

Blaise
whose friends will tell you has no Mentus whatsoever.

Have a lot of higgy?
As far as has been tested 20-25 mentus is enough not to take any damage.
Once youve taken damage however, and use it again it will NOT fell you. no matter how low you are.

there is a 17sec time out before you can use the portal back again also..

A committee needs to be established on the Ports postion imo as to ascertain the best location for them.
I think one should be put inside the main temple and the other to be determined.

(At least its not as easy as moving Algy.)

The second portal should obviously be put in the Foothills, to encourage exploration.

How exactly are you planning on moving the teleporter's ends? I didn't think you could just pick them up and carry them...

Gah, sorry about the double post. (How did that happen?)

Posted by: Coriakin on June 24, 2003 02:02 PM

Each teleporter takes you to the other one (purplegreen), not a fixed location. Similarly the mirrors inside the cloud, exit you to the location of the corresponding teleporter.

Apparently, you CAN pick up the two ends and move them, because that is how they came to be placed in the spots they are in now. Mjollnir reported this tidbit in CSMGA newsgroup earlier. Whether the ends can be picked up now and moved again and again, and how far apart, is an interesting question.

Double posts can happen if you click the post button twice. TMN is running a little more slowly lately, due I think to the large size of the database. I'll be taking some measures to optimize it soon; until then all I can ask is just to be patient after you push the post button; it will work, it just takes a bit.

Yes you can just pick them up and move them, slowly and with a great deal of effort but am I the only one who thinks having a teleporter to somewhere like Trainers Groot, The Foothills or KI (all places people have suggested) is a bad idea?

Posted by: Mjollnir on June 25, 2003 01:38 AM

I agree with Mjollnir, as tempting as it is to put these teleports in far off places to save travel time it seriously hinders the use of the teleports by many exiles. I think all exiles weak or strong should have a say and a vote on a soon-to-be established list of possible locations. Why should only higher level exiles be able to take advantage of these teleports?
Additionally, IMO, isn't the travel to and fro those suggested places part of the fun?
Aren't there PF's that already assist in quickly getting to some of these places like the FH's?

Gun....

There should be a committee or some kind of vote. Why would I want the portals to go to KI when I cant hunt there, and similarly why would a vetran want it to go to my choice of hunting ground. We need to make it benefit the exile community at large, not satisfy a few individuals. I think a cross section of Exiles, Mystics, Fighters and Healers of varying strength should be represented.
