Encounter with a War Pony

warpony2.png

Creed sent the following report to TMN:

Hail Para! It's great to see new submissions on TMN. Glad to have you back. :-)

I just had to submit these sketches of a recent visit by another pony to our fair town. The gods can be difficult sometimes for mere mortals to understand.

As you know, I often pray to the gods for my very own pony. The other night, I asked Santa Chicken for a pony for Bawkmas. Soon after, a beautiful rainbow-colored pony with a horn on his forehead appeared in town. I was so excited, but this pony began killing everything in its path, even the strongest of fighters. I tried to approach him, but he felled me as well. He was a War Pony!

At first I was upset and sought to understand the gods' purpose. I prayed and prayed for them to make the pony peaceful. At last they heard my prayers, and the pony became calm and tame. He followed a group to south farms and nibbled some grass and flowers, then followed us through the pf to the meadow. He seemed to like the meadow very much—although Tepper Azur wasn't too happy to see a pony in his secret place!

After a little while, the pony—whom we had renamed Pinky—galloped off into the trees. The gods gave us to understand that he would be happy in the forest.

I have been grateful for my encounters with these beautiful ponies but remain confused by the aggressive killer ponies that have invaded our town. I still hope one day to truly have a pony of my own.

Cheers,
-Creed

Zuing Himself

geo_zus_himself.png

Creed sent the following report to TMN:

Hail, Para!

I'm afraid that Bawkmas merriment may have gone to Geotzou's head. Perhaps it was one too many cups of eggnog in the Snowy Grove . . . whatever the cause, everyone's favorite expert zu farmer and master zu tactician was sketched in the act of *zuing himself.*

Yes . . . and Shiner and I witnessed it. It's always sad to see a good friend fall so far . . .

*big grin*

Merry Bawkmas, everyone!

More TI Chaos; Reunions in Town Center

overlord_stumps.png

Overlord sent the following reports to TMN:

(1) Recent activity on Tenebrion's Island has led to many deaths. The necromancer responsible will have much to answer for when Puddleby gets their hands on him! There have been dozens of departs and rescues. There are necromancers that fire devastating lightning bolts. I will have more captures as soon as I can.

(2) After a recent reunion of several characters, it just didn't seem right . . . without some BEER!

Chaos at Tenebrion's Keep

fire-calintz.png

Calintz sent the following report to TMN:

Guard General came to town, to advise us on Tenebrion's Keep and much that has been going on there. We quickly formed a group to go investigate. The group got split up into two groups. One group fell behind while the first group plowed into Tenebrion's Keep. We eventually fell and ended up in the freezer. I eventually was left alone in the Conference room, and due to the extreme defenses of the Darshak, I was forced to find a way to fall and depart. I found me a cozy little room to accomplish just that.

TI has been a huge source of conflict and fighting ever since.

Kerrah Takes Over the Ledger-Holders List Project

kerrah_golden.gif

Kerrah sent the following announcement to TMN:

As some of you may have noticed, the Web site listing ledger holders, which had been created and maintained by Farhope, is no longer being updated. I spoke with Farhope, and she has graciously allowed me to pick up the torch where she left off. I have created a new site for listing ledger holders:

http://clledgers.webs.com/index.htm

90% of the information currently on the site was obtained from Farhope's original site. I've done my best to either add new ledgers for those whom I know got new ledgers since her site was last updated, or to remove those who lost their ledgers due to untraining.

For more information, read the thread on the Clan Lord Sentinel.

Fury of the Myrms

supermyrm-1.png

Creed sent the following report to TMN

Hail, Para!

Creed here, reporting on the incredible events of earlier today in the "old" myrm hive, or as some call it, "Myrm Classic™." We've all seen the occasional "super" or "uber" myrm in town center recently—including the "teal green" myrms that are extremely hard for any but the strongest exiles to hit.

Today, several of those myrms appeared in town, once again doing their damage, but this time they didn't disperse as fast as they have before. In fact, several exiles tracked them back to the hive, where they (the exiles) found many more strong myrms waiting for them just inside. Not only the small green myrms were seen but other new ones, closer in size to the familiar Noble and Royal myrms, but colored purple, dark grey and deep red. The large purple myrms were called Patricians, and I believe the dark grey ones were Defenders.

A large force of exiles gathered and begin pushing our way into the hive. We found to our excitement that these myrms gave very good coin when finally brought down—but it was hard indeed to bring them down, and our exile force had to retreat several times over the course of the battle. Another new type of myrm appeared—small and green but with very frenzied, fast movements. This was called a Leafcutter Myrm, and sure enough, when, at one point, an exile tried to plant some zu, we found the Leafcutters were able to slice through it.

Finally our force was large and strong enough to make a deep charge into the hive. We pushed all the way into the Queen's Chamber, only to find the entry hall to be filled wall to wall with large uber-myrms. We had several heart-pounding moments as the fighters bravely stepped forward, taking turns being sharply bitten and wounded by the uber-myrms, backed by healers putting forth all of our spirit trying to keep our fighters standing. As you can see by my sketches, it was a close call—several times many of our fighters fell, and I was worried we would lose the day.

supermyrm-2.png

Finally enough exiles were able to squeeze in that we began pushing back the myrm defenders, but just then, the most terrible myrm I've ever seen entered the chamber. Called the Myrm Matriarch, she was huge, reddish-orange and swollen, more like a queen termite than an ant. She wreaked havoc among our force until enough fighters were able to surround and pound her to her death. Only then were we able to defeat the "Queen" Myrm, who seemed so small and weak compared to this new, prehistoric-looking beast.

myrm-matriarch-1.png

myrm-matriarch-2.png

myrm-matriarch-3.png

I believe Kalian was able to chain the Matriarch, but I am not sure if she could be stuffed. After the victory in the QC, it still took quite some time for the exile force to make our way out of the hive, as there were still many Myrm Defenders and Patriarchs scattered throughout the tunnels. Some exiles were too fallen to be raised on the spot and had to be chained to town. And even in TC, before it was all over, a few straggling myrms dared to show their nasty myrm faces—although believe me, they didn't last long among the adrenaline-charged exile force!

It looks to me as if Undrus is digging a bit too deep into places we might not want him to go—but I can't be sure that's where all of the myrms are originating, now that we've seen them back in the original myrm hive. With the death of the Matriarch, we may well find out.

Cheers,
-Creed

Creed Reports on the Harbingers

creed.gif

Creed sent the following report to TMN:

Hail Para!

It certainly has been an eventful couple of weeks!

Chance and I have both been busy sketching and trying to at least observe, if not scribble notes, when interesting events have happened around Puddleby. Here are some of our latest submissions.

We were not present for every one of the harbinger "invasions," but we did get sketches of two more of them (in addition to what's been posted before). I thought that exiles who missed some of these exciting incidents might like to see:

Rockodiles: fifth (?) Harbinger

Drakes: twelfth and final Harbinger

On to Savage Saturday! I made quite a few sketches during those wild 'n' crazy hours, and so did Chance. I haven't put these events in any real order; it's hard to remember now in what order they occurred.

Chum speaks! I had a rather content-free conversation with Chum, but it was funny that he talked at all.

The gods let us play with all sorts of strange items, and teased us with others that we couldn't pick up.

ss_items_everywhere.gif

The gods also teased us a bit with their senses of humor. At one point, creatures called Rangers appeared in town. They looked like comical gnomes and ran around calling for "lasties" on various exiles. I believe someone said that Mystics were also lampooned, but I didn't get a sketch of that.

ss_rangers.gif

ss_rangers-2.gif

In the end, the gods reminded us of their power with great bursts of lightning.

ss_blue_lightning.gif

It was all in good fun, but I know I was glad when Puddleby returned to being about as normal as Puddleby gets. Of course, the message from the last harbinger does remain in east field, a puzzle begging to be solved.

Cheers,
-Creed

Return of the Carnival

carnival-1.png

Illora Mone sent the following report to TMN:

Dear Paramedic,

I see that you've no pictures of the carnival up yet, so I've a short report on it.

Here in the northern East Farms, I found a new arch with flowers around it.

carnival-2.png

There were costumes and beer available, and carnies.

carnival-3.png

Here's the most popular game in the carnival, found at one of the rare times when no one was trying for a shirt. The bird makes seven jumps, and if it lands on a colored dot you win the shirt of that color.

carnival-4.png

This game is played for money, you win a multiple of your coins based on the color the ball ends on.

carnival-5.png

Following a yell of "Here!" I found a skating rink pushball, with an odd bug. After I made a goal, I skidded like I was on ice until I left the carnival!

carnival-6.png

Over here was the test of strength and the test of love. I did well on the test of love, but could barely budge the test of strength.

carnival-7.png

This one was a lot of fun. The disc spins around and will throw you off if you stop moving.

carnival-8.png

I really should have tried this, to see if I skidded around while in a boat too. It's just no fun without other people, though.

This is the first carnival I've seen, and it's pretty fun. Would be more fun if I were richer and if I had other people to play with. I won one of the Sunrise shirts, by luck.
